Barring last minute changes ahead of the Ministerial retreat and inauguration scheduled to hold today, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has made alterations to his proposed cabinet.
In a statement issued by Ajuri Ngelale, Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity yesterday, directed amendments be made to the name of a Ministry.
The President approved the renaming of the Federal Ministry of Environment and Ecological Management as the Federal Ministry of Environment.
President Bola Tinubu also approved the redeployment of Engr. Abubakar Momoh from the Federal Ministry of Youth to the Federal Ministry of Niger Delta Development.
With the redeployment, the Federal Ministry of Youth is to be re-assigned to a Minister-Designate soon.
The President also redeployed Alhaji Adegboyega Oyetola former Governor of Osun State from the Ministry of Transportation to the Ministry of Marine & Blue Economy.
Hon. Bunmi Tunji-Ojo and Hon. Sa’idu Alkali were redeployed to the Ministry of Interior and Ministry of Transportation.
The President went on further to state that both Ministers of State in the Oil & Gas sector are now domiciled in the Federal Ministry of Petroleum Resources.
Sen. Heineken Lokpobiri is to be the Hon. Minister of State (Oil), Petroleum Resources while Hon. Ekperipe Ekpo is the Hon. Minister of State (Gas), Petroleum Resources.
Recall that there had been speculations that President Tinubu followed the path of former President Muhammadu Buhari to retain the position of Minister of Petroleum Resources.
The Ministers-designate on Sunday concluded their documentation at the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (OSGF).
The documentation which started on Saturday ended on Sunday at 4pm, with all the 45 earlier cleared by the Senate participating in the exercise.
