Lagos State government has commenced the process of increasing the salary of public servants in the state.
Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu made this known on Tuesday while addressing workers at the state secretariat, Alausa, Ikeja.
He explained that the decision was taken in view of the economic hardship in the country
According to him, the state government would not wait for the federal government to call for the increase before it did.
His words: “I have looked around and I know that as a country, there is pressure.
“I know that, as a country, there is a high level of inflation.
“At our cabinet meeting, I instructed the head of service office and the ministry of staff, training, and pensions to start work on how we are going to increase the entire salary of our public servants.”
